Individual Therapy.
Individual therapy is a form of psychotherapy (talk therapy) in which the therapist works one-on-one with a client. Individual therapy helps the client to cope with mental health concerns and struggles in their personal life. Common goals for therapy include change and improving the quality of life.
It can be completed in the office or via telehealth. The sessions are considered a safe place for individuals to talk about tough topics that can be difficult to cope with alone.
An individual therapy session typically lasts from 30 to 55 minutes. The frequency depends on the client’s needs. A person does not need to only feel depressed or anxious to have a therapy session.
Individual therapy is for anyone who needs additional support in their life. When a client decides to engage in therapy is a personal decision. People seek therapy for all different reasons: to feel better, learn to cope with stress, and talk about traumatizing events.
